Memories and adventures of captivity [on the banks of the Volga]
The 1st and 2nd pages of the memoirs are disconnected from the beginning. Notes were kept daily with dates given. The first note is 18 June 1332/1916 and the last note is 17 March 1334/1918. It has 242 pages in its entirety. It contains the memories and adventures of some Turkish officers and Mehmet Asaf Bey, who were captured while fighting the Russians in various parts of the Caucasian front during the First World War, about their life in captivity in the town of Vetluga on the banks of the Vetluga River, one of the tributaries of the Volga River, for nearly three years. It ends with a letter written by Mehmet Asaf Bey to his lover.
