Notes Short shot of a manuscript, content: amulet scroll. Fourteen (14) invocations to Allah, divided into 14 gold and green framed prayer fields, which contain invocations to God and protective verses from the Koran. These offer protection against evil through the sacred texts hidden within them. The last and longest prayer is closed by a magic square with secret characters and numbers that underline the amulet character of the scroll. Features: 14 gold and green framed prayer fields. The prayer fields are framed by a volume of text written in alternating red and blue ink, in which God is asked for the owner of this scroll to avert harm and disaster, illness and suffering, ruin and flood and to keep away devils, evil spirits and demons as bringers of unfortunate events. Protection from the evil eye, which plays an important role in Islamic popular belief, is also prayed for. The roller is housed in a cylindrical housing to which a chain is attached. In Islamic culture, amulet scrolls are worn against any kind of harm, especially by vulnerable children. They are also hung around animals to protect against diseases. Writing: Meticulously executed Arabic calligraphy
