Notes
Short photo of a manuscript, content: Collection of texts (maǧmūʿ) by the founder of the Zaydi Imāmate in Yemen. The first, by far longest text, divided into two ǧuzʾ, deals with dogmatic controversies. The second ǧuzʾ are again divided into numerous uncounted masʾala's, writing: medium-sized, strong, somewhat angular, partly dotted Nasḫī. Highlights with a wider qalam (headings) and with red ink (rosettes as verse separators, vocalization of the headings, strikeouts), cover: Thoroughly restored brown leather binding. The center panel of an original volume, framed in a wide decorative frame, is glued onto the front cover. Inside is an almond-shaped many-pass ornament filled with a geometric pattern. The two strips of the frame are filled with different braided tape patterns. On the mirror of the back cover, leather from an original binding, BSB provenance: Eduard Glaser (1855-1908). - Munich, BSB., old signature: Cod.arab. Glazier 43
