Contents: A Fermân in Dîvânî, Equipment: 4 and 6 lines in gold script, with Toghra painted in blue and gold, then three lines written in black underneath it, Equipment: The form begins with the religious invocation formula in four-line gold script. It is calligraphed in the 〉Naskhi〈 style. This is followed by the 〉Tugra〈 and the actual document text. This is written in black ink sprinkled with gold dust in the elegant but difficult to read office style "Divânî" and still contains eight lines in its current state of preservation. Individual words, diacritical marks and decorative elements appear in gold. The 〉Tugra〈 itself, 18 cm high, is made with gold-bordered blue ink and decorated with gold arabesques on the inner arch and golden cloud bands on the outer arch, a motif borrowed from the canon of Chinese ornamentation. In the fourth and fifth lines of text is the sender's name, highlighted in blue ink, also bordered in gold: I am Sultan Süleyman Shah Chan, son of Sultan Bayezid Shah Chan. Immediately afterwards he addresses the addressee: You, who are Ferdinando, the King of Austria., BSB provenance: Johann Albrecht Widmannstetter, Kunstkammer. Süleyman's state letter has only survived in fragments in two parts. They were only put back together again in 1982, old signature: Cim. 77, old signature: Cod.or. 346d (Cim.
