Short photo of a manuscript, content: 20th chapter (Ǧuzʾ) of an edition of the Koran. This originally consisted of 30 individual volumes. Other sections or individual sheets can be found in various libraries, museums and collections., Writing: Eastern special form of Kufi in a form of metallic precision. The monumental impression of the font is festively enriched by colorful additions. Golden circle dots serve as diacritical marks, the vowel symbols are red, other reading and recitation symbols are green and blue. Features: Order symbols are added to the writing in the margin, into which the surah headings (leaf 18 recto and 43 verso) protrude with a palmette-shaped ansa. At the beginning (leaf 1) there is a purely decorative page with a system of boldly stilted arabesque leaves and secondary symmetrical filling of the ground. The double pages at the beginning (sheet 1 verso / 2 recto) and end (59 verso / 60 recto) have almost pictorial character due to the solid framing of the writing surface and continuous ornamentation of its base, BSB provenance: Acquired on January 16, 1979 from Otto Harrassowitz, Wiesbaden
