Notes Transliterated title: Biniiboo. The manuscript is written in classical Arabic with extensive glosses in Soninke Ajami. It is inspired from the poem Al-Burda (The Mantle) authored by the thirteenth-century Egyptian Sufī, Al-Busīrī. The manuscript praises Prophet Muhammad and discusses life, death, heaven, and the judgement day, among other topics. Custodial history: The owner inherited it from his father's young brother, Solly Diante who was born in Baghere in Casamance where he received his islamic education. He later setttled in Kontecounda where he served as a Quranic teacher and Imam until his death. Extent and format of original material: 61 pages. Physical characteristics: Unbound manuscript. Some pages are torn and others are missing. Signs of water damage are also noticeable. Owner(s) of original material: Alphousseyni Diante.
