Notes Chapter from it on the authority of Abu Al-Hussein Muslim bin Al-Hajjaj Al-Qushayri, may God have mercy on him, Zuhair bin Harb and Ishaq bin Ibrahim told us, Ishaq said: Tell us, and Zuhair said: Jarir told us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Zaid bin Wahb, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Abd Rab al-Kaaba, who said: I entered the mosque and saw Abdullah bin Amr bin al-Aas sitting in the shade of the Kaaba, and the people gathered around him, so I came to them and sat with him, and he said: We were with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. On a journey, we settled down, and among us were some who were repairing their tents, some of us were fighting, and some of us were in their camp, when the herald of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, called out: Prayer is comprehensive, so we gathered to the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and he said: “There was no prophet before me except that it was his duty to guide his nation to the best of what he taught them, and to warn them of the evil of what he taught them. Trials, and matters that you deny, and tribulations come and they strengthen each other, and tribulations come and the believer says: This is my destruction, then it is revealed and tribulations come, and the believer says: This is this. So whoever loves to be saved from Hell and enter Paradise, let him die while believing in God and the Last Day, and let him come to the people he loves to come to, and whoever pledges allegiance to an imam and gives him the deal of his hand, and the fruit of his heart, let him obey him if he is able. If another comes to dispute with him, then strike the neck of the other, and I approached him and said to him: I beseech you, by God, did you hear this from the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him? So he went to his ears, and turned his heart with his hands, and said: “My ears heard it, and my heart understood it.” So I said to him: This is your cousin Muawiyah, who commands us to consume our wealth among ourselves unjustly, and to kill ourselves, and God says: {O you who have believed, do not consume your wealth. between you with falsehood, unless it is a trade by mutual consent of yourselves, and do not kill yourselves. Indeed, God is Most Merciful to you.} He said: So he was silent for a while, then he said: “Obey him in obedience to God, and disobey him in disobeying God”...Qutaybah bin Saeed told us, Layth told us, (h) and Muhammad bin Rumh told us, Al-Layth told us, on the authority of Abu al-Zubayr, on the authority of Jabir, on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he said: “Cover the vessel, And close the waterskin, and close the door, and put out the lamp, for Satan does not untie a waterskin, nor open a door, nor uncover a vessel. If one of you has no choice but to place a stick on his vessel and mention the name of God, then let him do so, for the firewood sets fire to the people of the house in their house.” And he did not mention Qutaibah in his hadith and they closed the door... And Muhammad bin Al-Muthanna told me, Abd al-Rahman told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Abu al-Zubayr, on the authority of Jabir, on the authority of the Prophet. May God bless him and grant him peace, with a similar hadith to them, and he said: “And the fuisaqah sets the house on fire for its people.”
