In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. These are seven introductions that one must know in order to know the rainbow. The first premise: Among them is the explanation of reflection, which is that if light falls from a luminous body on a luminous body, such as a mirror, for example, that light is reflected from that luminous body to another body, and its position from that luminous body is the same as the position of the luminous body from that luminous body, provided that its direction is not different from the direction of the luminous body, and in that case it is necessary that the angle of reflection be equal to the angle of the ray, and for that to create a form that can be visualized from it, which is this, and let b g be the luminous body and the circle h is the mirror. And the line A E is its diameter and the circle H M is the other body, and the radial line falling from the illuminated body on the surface of the mirror is a line M M and the reflected ray from the surface of the mirror to the body that placed it from the mirror is the same as the position of the illuminated body from the mirror.... The seventh premise: If the ratio between the viewer and the parts of the mirror in the position is one ratio, and the ratio between each of the parts of the mirror and the visible object in the position is one, then the angles that occur from the imaginary radial lines emerging from the sight to the mirror and reflected from the mirror to the ghostly object whose angles are equal. It is like the shape drawn from the corners of the ghost to the shape drawn from the radial lines emerging from the sight to the mirror and reflected from it to the visible, in a circular manner. This shape was turned upon itself so that it encircles the line between the thing with the ghost and the seer. Secondly, it was placed and the shape began on it because the experience occurs in it only as a chain on the mirror, and as for each one of the seer and the seen, it is one undivided thing, so each one of them is the place of the end of the axis on the mirror.
