Notes Praise be to God, the First without beginning, the Last without end, the One who counts everything in number, the Knower of what is hidden of His creation and what is revealed. He sent us the most honorable of messengers as a guide, so he saved us from the darkness of misguidance to the light of guidance. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, his family and his companions, enumerating what his knowledge encompassed and the pen carried. And after: These are papers in which I will mention - God Almighty willing - what is easy to read and witnessed access to, from the books of the history of Islam, with regard to the virtues. Damascus and other parts of the land of the Levant, and the virtues of its great mosque and the flags it included, and how it was created and placed in the best and most perfect manner, and I will mention there, God willing, some of the honorable companions who died and were buried in the land of the Levant and those who came after them among the followers, working scholars, and saints through whom the clouds draw water, and mercy descends upon their remembrance over the passage of nights and days, and afflictions are warded off from their people, and illnesses are cured by them... so that the stone behind it is the Jew and the tree, so it says: O believer, this is a Jew who is behind me, so kill him, except for the Gharqad tree. If God Almighty destroys them, then the word will be one, and no one will be worshiped except God Almighty, and war will lay down its burdens and the earth will grow its vegetation during the time of Adam, peace be upon him, until the group gathers to pick grapes and satisfies them, and the group gathers to gather on pomegranates, which satisfies them. Then three years of hardship will come, and in the third the sky withholds its drops and the earth its plants, then Gog and Magog emerge, and the people will be with Jesus, peace be upon him, in the mountain, then God Almighty will destroy Gog and Magog, and the earth will bring forth its blessings, and after that a wind will blow from Yemen, seizing the souls of the believers, and the Hour will come upon the worst of creation, and God Almighty knows what is right.
