Notes	As for what follows, we ask God Almighty to prolong the life of our Lord Prince Seif al-Dawla and to continue his glory and protection and the extension of his state. I saw a group of the pioneers in the art of astronomy who had written books and called them introductions to this craft. Some did not investigate all that they needed in it, which is suitable to be an entry, and some were lengthy in what they brought that they did not need, so what they needed was lost in it, and some did not follow in its arrangement the path of education. I wrote this book and made it an entry and gathered in it the sayings of the predecessors. Whenever it is needed in industry by way of introduction, I did not limit the argument to what I came up with if it is in the book of Ptolemy the Wise, known as the Four Treatises, and in my book proving the making of the rulings of the stars, and some of the letter of Isa bin Ali in invalidating them. The protest is indispensable, and I made it five chapters…..The arrow of sweet foods from the sun to Venus, The arrow of spicy foods from the degree of Mars to the degree of Saturn, The arrow of bitter foods from the degree of Mercury to the degree of Saturn, The arrow of sweet laxatives from the degree of the sun to the degree of the moon, The arrow of medicines The sour laxative from Saturn to Jupiter, the arrow of salty medicines from the degree of Mars to the degree of the Moon, the arrow of poisons from Josiah to Saturn, the arrow of the victor by day from the Moon to Venus and by night in opposition, and all these arrows are thrown from the horoscope of transformation, so this is the sum of the arrows that have come down to us. We only brought these last arrows, even if the statement about them is weak, so as not to leave anything that may be an introduction to the making of the rulings of the stars except that We have brought it, and God is the Grantor, the Book has been fulfilled.
