Notes	The third section of the book is about the sciences of meanings and statement, and it contains an introduction to clarify the definitions of the two sciences and the purpose in them, and two chapters to define their complexes and speech about them. Introduction: Know that the science of meanings is tracking the properties of the structures of speech in the statement and what is related to them of approval and other things in order to be careful by examining them from making mistakes in applying the speech as the situation requires mentioning. By the structures of speech I mean the structures coming from those who have the virtue of discernment and knowledge, and they are the structures of rhetoricians and not those coming from others. Because it descends in the art of rhetoric to the status of animal sounds emanating from their places, according to what is agreed upon....And since you have realized that the science of meanings and explanation is knowing the properties of the structures of speech and knowledge of the formulations of meanings in order to achieve the fulfillment of the stations of speech in accordance with what the power of your intelligence fulfills, and when you know that the station of inference in relation to the other stations of speech is one part of their sentence and an individual branch of their scope, you have learned to follow the structures of inferential speech and know their properties. This is something that is necessary for the owner of the knowledge of meanings and explanation, and when we set out to benefit him, we were obliged not to believe in anything that is part of it, and to seek success from God in completing it, and God is the Grantor of what is right, and praise be to God first and last..
