Praise be to God, Lord of the worlds, and the end is for the righteous, and there is no aggression except against the wrongdoers, and prayers be upon the best of His creation, Muhammad and his good and pure family, and after: The guilty servant, Muhammad bin Abi Bakr, may God have mercy on him, after his long wading in the sea of sins and disobedience, sought the pleasure of the Most Merciful, and went against Satan, and escape from the fires, and entered Paradise. His soul did not allow him to follow the path of faith, except that he found in the hadith of the best human being, the author of miracles and proof, that he said: He who collected forty hadiths. It is about pardon and forgiveness. The servant collected forty hadiths with chains of transmission connected to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, chosen from the great sheikhs and imams, and each one narrated on the authority of some of the righteous companions. The servant added to it what was appropriate for preaching, from the stories heard from scholars and those mentioned in the news and traditions, in the hope that he would be safe from the wrath of the mighty king... The first hadith on the authority of Abdullah bin Omar, may God be pleased with him, is that he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: Those who are merciful, may God have mercy on them. Be merciful to those on earth, and those in heaven will have mercy on you. And in agreement with this hadith is a story......the fortieth hadith on the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: At the end of time there will emerge peoples whose faces are like the faces of human beings and whose hearts are the hearts of devils like those of ferocious wolves. There is no mercy in their hearts. They shed blood and do not claim an ugly cause. If you pledge allegiance to them, they will slander you, and if you hide from them, they will backbite you, and if you trust them, they will betray you. Their youth will be determined, and their youth will be stubborn. Their sheikh does not enjoin what is right or forbid what is wrong. Taking pride in them is humiliation, and seeking what is in their hands is poverty... He said: Like salt in water, it dissolves their hearts, just as salt dissolves in water. They said: How do they live in that time? He said: Like worms in vinegar. They said: O Messenger of God, how do they preserve their religion? He said: Like embers in the hands, and if he puts them down, they are extinguished, and if he holds them, he is burned. The book was done…
