{There has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves, dear to him is what you have meant, keen on you towards the believers, Compassionate and Merciful} A secret prophet, whose destiny is upon me, and whose proof is clear, the best of creation as mother and father, and the purest of lineage. For his sake, God created the two universes, and acknowledged him among every believing believer, and made him a prophet of the prophets, and Adam curled up in his clay, and wrote his name on the throne declaring his rank before Him and his virtue, and Adam pleaded with him and he repented to him. And he told him that had it not been for him, he would not have created him, and we point out that it is an advantage to him, and he recited: A prophet was singled out for advancement, and Adam was afterward in clay and water, generous with life from his palms, and generous in his face, with modesty....And if we had liked to mention the weak things like some of the wire, we would have cited a hadith: God revealed to me that I forbade fire on the core of the clay and the belly of your burden. But I do not use anything like this as evidence, nor do I draw rain or drizzle from it, for in the strong evidence there is no need for a weak person to speak about it... I created this maqama and called it the Sundus maqama, and I served with it the honorable, chosen, pure and sacred lineage, and for a while since I left engaging in any of these matters without being restricted, but I could not avoid this issue, so I made it as an exception due to necessity, and I hoped through it to win the gardens of bliss. I sought the pleasure of the noble and beloved Prophet by revering and honoring him with the best prayers and peace, and I entrusted everyone with good taste with it. If they turn away, then say, “Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god but He. In Him I trust, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.”
