He was a staunch follower of the Anglo-Catholic doctrine, meaning he belonged to the Anglican church movement that supported the idea of the church retaining its Roman Catholic heritage rather than its Protestant identity. Weston was involved in the bitter Kikuyu conflict of 1913-1914, which resulted from the 1913 conference in Kikuyu (now Kenya), British East Africa, where Anglicans, Methodists and Presbyterians agreed to ally themselves to confront any potential threats from non-Christian groups. |
