Notes
Jalal returned to his pine village. He couldn't find his grandmother's house where he grew up the way he was. The villagers stormed it and destroyed its furniture because they believed that its owner, Hajja Hadiya, was a friend of the jinn.++++Sobhiya, the widow who lives nearby, visits Jalal to offer him cleaning the house. Their relationship develops into sensual touches. But the memory of an old love awakens inside him after a phone call from Salma, his cousin, and Rosette, the wife of his friend Adnan, wants something from him. +++Suddenly, the mood of the villagers changes towards Hajja Hadiya. She performed many miracles from her grave, which prompted them to make her a guardian and visit her shrine to seek blessings from it. But that does not please the “people of the path” because God did not send prophets to humans, but rather prophets. +++ An interesting novel that tells about the conflict between innate religiosity and partisan religiosity in a southern village whose residents feel spirits and do not pay attention to them.
