Notes
"Reprint of the Leipzig 1882 edition.", Added t.p. in Arabic. Text and its paging in Arabic; introduction in German., The original Arabic title is translated: The book of the philosopher Aristotle, which in Greek is called Theologia ... is explained by the Tyrian Porphyrius. The same was translated into Arabic by the Christian Ibn 'Abdallah Nā'ima from Emessa and correctly produced for Achmed ibn al Mu'tasim billah by Abu Yosef Jacob ibn Ishāk, the Kendite. cf. Dieterici. The so-called Theology of Aristotle translated from Arabic. 1883, p.[1], caption title., Actually a paraphrase of Plotinus' Enneades, IV-VI. The Arabic version by Ibn Na'imah appears to be based on a Syriac translation attributed by Baumstark to Jōḥannān of Apamela. cf. Oriens Christianus, II (1902), p. 187-191.
