Notes	Far from simplistic explanations of the uprisings that have spread across the Arab region since the beginning of the Tunisian revolution in December 2010, this book explores the depths of the events and reveals their deepest economic and social roots.+++While the author sees the Arab events as a long-term revolutionary process, he provides a concrete analysis of the social forces involved in that process, evaluates what the uprisings have led to, and estimates their prospects.+++It also highlights the role of movements that exploit religion for political purposes. And on the role of its Gulf sponsors, who are dependent on American protection.+++The research is radical in both senses of the word: in the way it deals with events, and in its view of the social and political change required to overcome the chronic crisis in the dying Arab reality.
