Notes	The author of this biography, Burhan al-Din Bash Aayan, had a long record in diplomatic work, and in the political and national struggle in Iraq, and the Arab nationalist struggle, from the beginning of his youth and his graduation from the Faculty of Law in Baghdad in 1937, until his departure from Iraq in 1962. He was famous throughout his life for his continuous activities in the fields of charitable, social reform, and scientific work, in Iraq and other Arab and Islamic countries. The researcher sought to identify the formative factors and environmental conditions that accompanied the biography’s author’s birth and upbringing. This biography covers broad aspects, including the history of his family and the history of the region during the period surrounding his birth and life. The research reached important conclusions about the political and social events that the biographer and his family witnessed and dealt with during the period in his life, including significant new information, published for the first time about the contemporary history of Iraq and the region.
