A new edition of the W.R. Paton edited set of the Greek anthology, which was originally published 1916-1918 in the Loeb classical library. Paton's English translation was not completely abandoned, however revisions to the Greek text which have occurred since 1918 have been so substantial that the translations of very few epigrams were left untouched, and many had to be reconceived entirely. In addition there is much here that was not found in Paton's edition, including lemmata, a brief apparatus, and more frequent notes--Cited from the Preface, volume 1., Includes bibliographical references., Texts in Greek with English translations on facing pages. introduction and notes in English..
