The text is arranged in a series of cartouches of various shapes; the one at the beginning bears in its center Koran XLVIII, 1-2 in white “Kufic” characters on a blue background covered by a golden scroll; it is separated from the next by a series of circular decorations. The second cartridge is divided in its central part into hexagons inside which the Koranic text is written in red or black. A new series of circular decorations separates it from cartridges which are linked to each other. In all cases, the perimeter is occupied by a larger line of writing, the center being reserved for miniature writing. Roll 9,120 mm long by 103 mm wide (composed of 330/340 mm long strips). Oriental paper. Black and red ink.. Egypt?
