Biyografi veya Tarihçe
Les manuscrits du Proche-Orient cotés 1 à 13 portent les numéros 33 à 45 dans le Catalogue général des manuscrits des Bibliothèques publiques, tome XLI, p. 816-817. Ils ont été déchiffrés par Gaudefroy-Demombynes, secrétaire-bibliothécaire de l'Ecole des langues orientales. Le volume du Catalogue général des manuscrits les décrivant n'a pas été rétroconverti, à l'exception de la notice du Ms 13 bis. Le présent inventaire a d'abord été constitué à à partir d'un inventaire constitué par la médiathèque de Hyères, qui s'inspirait du Catalogue général des manuscrits, puis complété avec les éléments de ce dernier. Les manuscrits correspondant aux notices n°32, 33, 34, 39 et 45 du CGM n'ont pas été identifiés ; leurs notices ne sont donc pas reportées.

L'ensemble des manuscrits orientaux de la médiathèque muncipale d'Hyères, décrits ici, ont été acquis suite au leg en 1878 de la bibliothèque d' Alphonse Denis , ancien maire de Hyères et député du Var, ancien président de la Société orientale de France et cofondateur avec Abel Hugo de la Revue de l'Orient en 1843.
