This chronicle was completed in the month of Zilhiǧǧa 879 AH (April-May 1475), and its author dedicated it to the grand vizier Mahmoud Pasha, minister of Sultan Mohammed II. He had composed at an earlier date (folio 2 verso) a book entitled Tafarrouǧ name, on which he gives no details, after which he undertook to put into Turkish verse the Persian history of the kadi Beïdhavi, the Nizam el-tevarikh, the four sections of which he divided into twenty-two chapters; the last six contain the history of the Ottomans and form half of this poem.
