Inc. (f. 1v): (...) الحلبي (...) قال بن الشحنة في ذكر حدود الشام أمّا حدود الشام فالحد الجنوبي منه العريش... Exp. and colophon (f. 98v): و قبل ذلك وقع حريق أيضاً في كنيسة مريم و أسواقها فاحترق الجميع(...) (...) Where is the water? ١٠٨٢ BROCKELMANN (C), Geschichte der arabischen Literatur, Suppl. I 568 (for al-uʿayfī). Copy executed by Tūmā ibn Sulaymān al-Urtūduksī and completed in ṣ afar 1082/June-July 1671 (f. 98v). Note from Pétis de La Croix according to which he began translating this book on August 1, 1672 (f. 1, flyleaf). Pétis de La Croix was at that time in Aleppo. The manuscript then belonged to Michel Deshautesrayes.. Frontispiece. Cover binding (Aleppo?), spine with visible bands, brown morocco, central gilded decoration of four rosettes and four leaves arranged around a rosette. Framed with gilded fillets, 125 x 68 mm with triangle spandrels and a leaf at each corner outside the frame. On the flap, eight leaves around a rosette. Borders of two cold-stamped fillets (see ms Arabe 312). Trace of title on the back. The price of the letter of the ZAYN AL-DĪN AḤMAD IBN ʿALĪ Al-UʿAYFĪ, lui-même a abrégé of al-Durr al-muntaẖab fī taʾrīẖ mamlakat Ḥalab of Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad Ibn al-Šiḥna. This is the front view. Inc. (f. 1v): As for what follows, this is an excerpt that I selected from what was selected by the scholar Zain al-Din Ahmad ibn Ali (...) from the history of the scholar, the most judicious judge ibn al-Walid ibn al-Shihna al-Halabi (...) Ibn al-Shihna said in mentioning the borders of the Levant: As for the borders of the Levant, the southern border of it is Al-Arish... Exp. et colophon (f. 98v): And before that, a fire also occurred in the Church of Mary and its markets, and everyone was burned (...) This mortal, the Roman Orthodox Thomas bin Suleiman, was suspended (...) This happened and was written in the month of Safar of the year one thousand eighty-two AH in the year 1082 BROCKELMANN (C), Geschichte der arabischen Literatur, Suppl. I 568 (for al-uʿayfī). Copied by Tūmā ibn Sulaymān al-Urtūduksī and archived on August 1082/July 1671 (f. 98v).
