The work is divided into twenty-nine chapters, which follow chronological order, and in each chapter the biographical articles are classified in alphabet order. The last chapter contains the notices of doctors who died around the middle of the 9th century AH. At the end are the tables of names, patronymics which begin with ابو, honorific titles, ethnic designations and nicknames in the form of “son of so-and-so” (ابن), and a table of authors designated by the abbreviated titles of their works, for example: صاحب صاحب الارشاد التقريب. Ms. executed in Mecca, in 882 A.H. (1477-1478 A.D.).
