The others were added in black ink, probably by the same hand that collated and corrected. - Snack mark (f. 10v). - Marginal corrections. - Frontispiece: 145 x 130 mm frame made up of a gold band, black threads and a blue braided thread at the four corners. The upper part contains the title and volume number in red, framing the names of the caliphs whose reign is described; two golden tears surrounded by blue nets with two golden rosettes at the ends are placed on the right and left, the lower part contains a formula in favor of the reigning dynasty in white letters on a background of golden floral motifs in reserve on a blue background (f. 2). 234 fol. (f. 1v left blank). - 250 x 175mm. - 17 lines per page. - Written surface 195 x 120 mm. - Reglure to the miṣṭara. - Quinions. - Traces of cropped full-letter numbering (f. 80, 89, 99...).. Fifth volume in a series of eleven. According to information provided by D. Richards, ms British Library 1233 (= Add 23325) belongs to the same series. Years 252 h/866 to 322 h/933. Gaps between fols. 180-181, 219-220, 227-228. Title to f. 1 and 234v. First words (f. 2v): ذكر خلافة المعتز بالله في سنة إثنين و خمسين و مائتين هو أبو عبد الله محمد بن جعفر المتوكل علي الله بن اسحاق المعتصم Last words (f. 234-234v): و فيها قدم مُونس الورقاني بالحاج سالمين من القرمطي دخل على [...] فشكر نجز الجزو الخامس من الكتاب الموسوم بزبدة الفكرة في تأريخ الهجرة تأليف العبد الراجي رحمة المنصوري الدوادر عفا الله عنه Anonymous and undated copy. - According to Mr. Amari, the manuscript “appears to have been copied on behalf of the author and corrected in the margins by his hand” (Ms Arabe 4497, Catalog des Mss Arabes), probably because of the formula used at the end of the volume. Reported from Constantinople by François Sevin. - Constituted as a waqf by al-Malik al-Ẓāhir Barqūq (1382-1399) in favor of the madrasa that he built (f. 2); mentions of waqf (f. 14v, 26v, 40v...). - Cachet (f. 2, 140v and 229v). - A notice from J. Ascari dated 1733 and one from Dom G. F. Berthereau. Notice in the hand of ʿUmar Efendī on the upper backplate. Frontispiece. Cover binding, black morocco; cold-stamped decoration: central plates in the shape of polylobed mandorlas, 115 x 65 mm; decoration with four bifurcated leaves, cf. Paris, 1985, II, type Osd; spandrels formed of fillets and points; threads on the central axis, at the edge, at the flap and covering, forming four rectangles on the part protecting the gutter. Derniers mots (f. 234-234v): In which Munis Al-Warqani came to Hajj Salmin from Al-Qarmati. He entered [...] and thanked him for completing the fifth part of the book marked with butter. The Idea in the History of Migration, written by Al-Abd Al-Raji Rahma Al-Aff Al-Ghaffar Baybars Al-Mansouri Al-Dawadar, may God forgive him. Copy anonymously and non-data. - By M. Amari, the manuscript “Please write a copy for the computer and record it in the main page” (Ms. Arab 4497, Catalog of Ms. Arabs), a possible cause of the employed form at the end of the volume.
