See the typewritten notices of Georges Vajda for the Arabic manuscripts 1595 to 2054. Historical summary composed of short notices on the emirs and sovereigns who governed Egypt. The author, Ḥasan al-Ṭoloûnî, or, according to Hadji Khalfa, Ḥasan ibn Ḥosaïn ibn Aḥmad, was born in 832 AH (1428-1429 AD). Hadji Khalfa says that the work stops at the year 909; but we see from our copy that an anonymous person continued it until the year 982 AH, when the Ottoman pasha, Ḥazrat Masîḥ, was put in charge of the government of Egypt. Following this work is found, written by the same hand, an apparently truncated copy of the dispatch addressed by Schâh Ismaʿîl to Sultan Al-Ghaurî, with the latter's response. The beginning flyleaf bears a prayer that must be recited after reading the ninety-fourth surah of the Koran. At the end of the volume are some medical recipes. Comes from the library of Philibert de La Mare. See the Catalog of manuscripts of Philibert de la Mare, 1719, ms. French 5702 and French 5703.
