See the typewritten notices by Georges Vajda and Solange Ory for the Arabic manuscripts 2 to 40, 42, 50 to 67, 202, 288 to 299, 323 to 383, 385 to 470. Text with vocalization and orthoepic signs. Gold dots separate the verses. Irregularly the word ʿ ašr written in the margin in red ink indicates groups of ten verses. At the head of each surah appear its title and the number of its verses in rubric characters close to ṯuluṯ, placed inside a banner. The beginning of the text is placed inside a frame (ff° 1 v° and 2 r°); on each of the two pages, it is delimited by a golden net starting from the upper edge to define a rectangle whose upper part is occupied by a pediment in the shape of a broken arch where a golden arabesque unfolds on a blue background. The remaining space is divided into two strips, delimited by a red band and carrying a golden cartouche (not used), and a central rectangle which received the text and which are flanked by two vertical spaces - each of them presents two superimposed cartouches with a golden plant decoration on a blue background. The rest of the text is inscribed in a golden linear frame. The indications of sağda and those of the divisions in ḥizb and ğuz ʾ were written in the margin in red ink; they had been preceded by other indications written vertically at the outer limit of the sheet (cf. ff° 190 v°, 216 v°, etc...). Oriental and Western paper. 464 fol. 150 × 98mm. 12 lines per page (except in ff° 1 v° and 2 r°: 7 l.). Black ink. Reglure to the misṭara. Writing surface: 84 × 52 mm. Advertisements. Quinions. Oriental binding whose flap has disappeared; on both boards, central plate in the shape of a polylobed mandorla (59 × 41 mm; decoration of “clouds”, cf. NSv, fig. 5) and cold-stamped pendants on red colored patches whose field has been gilded. The frame is made up of a strip of chained hatched S's, stamped then gilded, caught between two gilded fillets. A) Koran; B) prayer to recite after having finished reading the Koran (f° 464). Türkiye Copy completed in the middle of the month of ğumādā II 1049/middle of September 1639 by Muḥammad said Qu [.] ādī. a student of Muḥarram Çelebī Aġā Zāde (f° 464 v°).. Mark of possession of Aḥmad Ḫalīfa. Notice in Latin by Abraham Ecchelensis, which indicates that this manuscript was part of the Mazarin library. Comes from the library of E. Renaudot, bequeathed in 1720 to the abbey of Saint-Germain des Prés.
