The words in this vocabulary, which begins without preface, without title or author's name, are classified according to the order of their last letter, and according to the first letter, in each of the sections formed by the various letters of the alphabet; the Turkish translation is written in the interline spaces. Galland, who acquired this manuscript in Constantinople in the year 1695, states that it contains 23,000 words, which is a somewhat exaggerated statement; we find at the end of the book (folio 144 verso) notes on Persian grammar, in Turkish..
