The real title of this collection of stories, which was dedicated to Sultan Mourad III, is بدائع الاثار; that of Lataïf is only given in the superscription of this copy. The author says, in his short introduction, that he wanted to bring together anecdotes on the tricks and perfidies of women, on the adventures of war, on all kinds of curious facts; they are divided into stories, of which only the first two are numbered..
