Beginning: الحمد لله الذى [لا] يتم امرٌ دون حمده. This manuscript is a copy of a copy which bore the date 497 (1103-1104 AD). Hadji Khalfa, without having seen the work, attributes it to Aḥmad ibn Moḥammad al-Maïdânî. The author says in his preface that he dedicated his work to a very high-ranking person in the civil administration (العميد الاعز ثقة الملك شمس الكُتّاب), named Abou ʾl-Barakât ʿAlî ibn Maʿsoud ibn Ismaʿîl.
