Persian nestalik from the 16th century. Very luxury copy, copied in gold ink, and decorated with a frontispiece in gold and colors. Copy containing the preface, copied by the calligrapher Sultan Ahmad al-Harawi. Restoration in 2023: restoration of tears in the notebook backgrounds and marginal tears. Sewing the 2 volume notebooks with yellow modern silk thread. Back fitting with a 28g japan protruding over the bits. Restoration of the leather of the casing with a finely trimmed crushed grain goatskin slipped under the leather of the boards. A Japanese paper hinge has been slipped on the back. Re-inserting the document into the cover by gluing the leather on the spine and gluing the Japanese on the spine under the marbled paper hinges which are then put back in place. Reincrustation of the leather of the bits and edges. Dyeing of paper restorations (gluing a Japanese hinge at the edge of marbled papers) with watercolor and dyeing of leather restorations with Stahl. File BnF-ADM-2023-047521-01.
