Headed dots separate the verses. Irregularly, the word ʿ ašr written in the margin in red ink indicates groups of ten verses. At the top of each surah are its title and the number of its verses, in red ink. The text is inscribed in a linear red frame at ff° 89 and 90, 122 to 124. The indications of sağda and those of division in ḥizb and ğuz ʾ appear in the margin, in black or red ink. Oriental and Western paper. 244 fol. 300 × 202mm. 15 lines per page (except in ff° 1 v° and 2 r°: 7 l.). Black ink. Reglure to the misṭara. Writing surface: 208 × 123 mm. Advertisements. Quinions. Oriental flap binding, restored spine; central plate in the shape of a polylobed mandorla (82 × 59 mm; decoration of a bouquet with a broken stem, cf. OAi, fig. 6), pendants and spandrels cold stamped then gilded on both boards. A golden net highlights the contours of these decorations and two others constitute the frame. On the flap, Koran LVI, 79 has been stamped in a frame with a gilded background; on either side there is a net of chained golden S's with a braided pattern in the center. The spandrels and the framing of the boards are repeated on the covering and completed by an axial fleuron - with a bouquet motif with a broken stem - also stamped; the funds were gilded.. Türkiye?. Anonymous notice in French: “this pretious MS contains 1° the alcoran in Arabic 2° [distracts] the legal foundations of the Ismailites - or of Arab law, on a single separate sheet which comes from the card. From Richelieu. This MS was in a mosque or Mohammedan Temple from where he was kidnapped. ... it does not come from Mr. Cardinal de Richelieu.”
