The layout of the frontispiece has been imitated in the present copy, the copy of which was executed by a Turk, ʿOlwan ibn ʿAbd al-Nabi ibn ʿOlwan al-Karamani al-Hanafi, secretary of the sultan's commands (Katib al-ahkam al-houmayouniyya), for his personal use. A table of contents is prefixed at the top of the volume.
