A bifolio added subsequently at the end of the work bears the mention of a dating: "Finished in the month of Rabî first of 861" (1456) which cannot be that of the document from a stylistic point of view. These works belong to Persian literature; they include ghazals, quatrains, the Bustân and the Golestân. The chapter heads are illuminated with frontispieces typical of the current production of the Shîrâz school from the end of the 16th century. The margins of the pages where paintings appear and those facing them have a gilded decoration with a motif of foliage or flowers. Persian Qajar style painted lacquer binding (1786-1925). Glittery brown background with floral pattern in a mandorla in the center of the dishes, all covered with varnish. Initial notice by Mr. Blochet. Ce manuscrit n'apparaît pas au catalogue Delandine paru en 1812 car la cote 1662 qui lui a été attribuée relève d'un volume jamais publié. L'estampille "G[ran]de bibliothèque de la ville de Lyon - 1895" figure par deux fois sur les feuillets de garde.

Le manuscrit comporte 22 lignes par page, sur deux colonnes au centre, assorties de 14 lignes disposées obliquement, soit un total de 29 vers par page. Le texte se trouve dans un double encadrement dont le papier en support a été sablé, à l'or au centre, en rouge latéralement.
