Turkish Neskhi, dated the year 1078 AH (1667-1668).. The title is given on folio 2 verso, but an owner of this manuscript wrote, on the recto of the first leaf, the clearer title of تاريخ ينكى دنيا “History of the new world”, which is only approximate; the first two chapters deal with the geographical situation of America, and form the prolegomena of the third (folio 24 verso), where the history of the discovery of the new world begins; there are many gaps in this manuscript. Two crudely executed paintings are found on pages 40 verso and 48 recto; one of them represents natives capturing a long-horned animal in a forest, the other, an American landscape; the place of several others remained blank.. Letellier.. Turkish cardboard.. Restoration in 2023: reinforcement of the spine, the bottoms of the notebooks, removal of the loose leaves which were glued to reassemble them with the notebooks.
