Written in the form of a scroll, containing, according to custom, the descendants of Adam, the prophets of Judaism, the kings of Persia of the legendary dynasties, the ancestors of Mohammed, the imams of the Alids, the Ghaznevids, the Seljuks, the Osmanlis, from the origins of the dynasty to Sultan Mohammed III, grandson of Selim II, son of Soleiman I (1595-1603). The names of the characters are inscribed in circles in place of their effigies, and a few are accompanied by insignificant biographical notes. The scroll begins with a passage in prose, in which the Iblis insurrection and the history of the pre-Islamic prophets are spoken of; it contains, very nearly, the same list as that of Soubhat el-akhbar, which is discussed under numbers 46 of the Old Fund and 456 of the Supplement; it was purchased by Ravius, in Constantinople, on October 27, 1640..
