Notes
Other file(s) linked to this institution: FRBAMCCFR-000060-01b.xml. Beautiful Turkish writing, from the second half of the 16th century. The title and the name of the author disappeared with the first leaves of the preface; the title لطيفه نامه (sic), for لطائف نامه, which is written on the recto of the first page, in a European hand, next to a title in Italian Detti giocosi in turcchesco, has no authenticity. The author, who lived in the 16th century, during the reign of the great Soleiman, was a very well-read man, who wrote elegantly in prose and verse; he was the disciple of a Sufi sheikh, named Emir Ahmedi el-Bukhari (folio 6 recto), and he brought together in this book what he found most interesting in ancient works; it is divided into an introduction and five chapters, details of which are given during the introduction (folio 8 verso).. Gaulmin.. Western binding, in parchment.
