The title of Heves name, which is the one by which Haği Khalifa knows this work, is given on folio 21 recto, and that of Mohebbet name is indicated in the subscription, in a chronogram محبّت نامۀ جعفر, which represents the year 899 of the Hegira (1493), during the reign of Sultan Bayezid II, to whom it is dedicated. The Heves name begins with a very detailed description of Constantinople and its surroundings, Galata, the imperial palace, its gardens, Hagia Sophia, the great mosque of Sultan Mohammed II, etc. ; there are also poetic descriptions of the seasons, of the pen, in a manner imitated that of Persian literature. Luxury manuscript, decorated with a sarloh illuminated in blue and gold. Turkish binding, in stamped brown morocco.
