The author of this work is not named; he declares (folio 2 recto) that he undertook this work at the request of Moustafa Agha, captain in the corps of Janissaries اوده باشى, under the reign of Sultan Selim II (d. 982 AH = 1574), and that he saw the light of day at the first hour of the fourth Safar of the year 980 AH (June 16 1572). Luxury manuscript, decorated with a sarloh and a gold frontispiece. We read, on the front of the first leaf, the ex-libris of “Bouvié, drummer in the first battalion of the 72nd demi-brigade”, who brought it back from Egypt, where he had taken it. Translation of the treatise on literal cabala, talismanic and isoteric interpretation of the names of God. F. 3v: translation from Arabic شمس المعارف و اطايف العوارف.
