F. Déroche, Catalog of Arab manuscripts. 2nd part. Muslim manuscripts. Volume 1, 2: The Manuscripts of the Koran: from the Maghreb to Insulindia. Paris, Bibliothèque nationale, 1983, n° 538., See the typewritten notices of Georges Vajda and Solange Ory for the Arabic manuscripts 2 to 40, 42, 50 to 67, 202, 288 to 299, 323 to 383, 385 to 470.. Text with vocalization and orthoepic signs. Gold dots separate the verses. Concentric blue and gold circles, with a floral decoration on a blue background in their center, indicate groups of five verses when they are accompanied by a blue vertical line and those of ten when they keep their simple shape. At the head of each surah are its title and the number of its verses in white ṯuluṯ characters on a gold background, inside a blue frame. The division indications in ğuz ʾ and ḥizb are written in the margin in red ink. On the initial double page (ff° 1 v° and 2 r°), the text of the S. I is arranged in a frame which delimits, on the three exterior sides of each page, a band formed of polylobed triangular elements, alternately blue or gold, nested one inside the other and traversed by an arabesque. In the central rectangle, the text is written inside a golden cartouche placed on a blue background decorated with arabesques. The beginning of S. II is placed under a pediment which contains a cartouche where the title and the number of verses are indicated in the same character as for the other suras (f° 2 v°). The remainder of the text is inscribed in a linear blue and gold frame. Oriental paper, 466 fol. 130 × 82mm. 12 lines per page (except in ff° 1 v° and 2 r°: 4 l., and 2 v°: 7 l.). Writing surface: 68 × 37 mm. Black ink. Quaternions. Western binding in oriental imitation, with flap; red morocco with the arms and figure of Louis XV.. Iran Copy executed by ʿ Abd al-Raḥmān (f° 466 v°).
