Paris, Bibliothèque nationale, 1983, n° 351., See the typewritten notices of Georges Vajda for the Arabic manuscripts 471 to 812.. Pl. XIX, A Text with vocalization and orthoepic signs. Golden rosettes enhanced with blue dots separate the verses. In the margin, circles with the words ẖams or ʿ ašr in gold “Kufic” characters on a red background mark the groups of five and ten verses respectively; these two decorations are surrounded by a blue net and the indication of groups of five takes the shape of a teardrop. At the head of each surah appear its title and the number of its verses in golden ṯuluṯ characters whose outlines have been traced in ink; in the margin, a group decoration of ten verses accompanies (by mistake?) this indication. A division in ḥizb is written in blue ink. The beginning of the text is inscribed in a linear gold and blue frame (ff° 1 v° and 2 r°); a headband, the outline of which is traced by a golden braid with short elements into which small blue squares are inserted, bears the indication of the number of the ğuz ʾ in golden characters on a blue background animated by a spiral scroll (f° 1 v°). A trefoil vignette with arabesque decoration accompanies this decoration. Oriental paper, with three grouped bridges. 27 fol. 262 × 187mm. 7 lines on the page. Black ink. Reglure to the misṭara. Writing surface: 130 × 100 mm. Modern half binding, cloth spine.. Egypt. A waqf act is hidden in f° 1 r° by a sheet of paper pasted afterwards: we can distinguish the date (30 (?) rabī ʿ II 840/11 November 1436); the author is undoubtedly a character from the entourage of the Mamluk Sultan Barsbay (r. 825-841/1421-1438) bearing the title of ḥāğib 1 (1. The name is not discernible; we however think that it is possible to read, at the end of the first line: al-sayf ??? Aq [b] ird ???.). Waqf marks sometimes erased (ff° 1 v°, 2 r°, 9 v°, 10 r°, 13 v°, 14 r°, 17 v°, 18 r°, 21 v°, 22 r°, 26 v° and 27 r°). Comes from the Asselin de Cherville collection.
