Muslim manuscripts. Volume 1, 2: The Manuscripts of the Koran: from the Maghreb to Insulindia. Paris, Bibliothèque nationale, 1983, n° 484., See the typewritten notices of Georges Vajda for the Arabic manuscripts 5600 to 6109.. Pl. XXIII, A Text with vocalization and orthoepic signs. Golden rosettes enhanced with blue and green separate the verses. A multi-lobed circular figure with floral decoration on a golden background marks the groups of ten verses; a diamond with scalloped contours with an arabesque on a blue background indicates those of five. The surah begins under a pediment, inside a frame delimited by juxtaposed lines - predominantly gold - starting from the upper edge of the page. A complex golden braid with short elements, enhanced with blue and red dots, delimits the pediment which ends in a brace, and where, on a golden background, an arabesque of red and blue flowers intertwines with blue "clouds" (f° 1 v°). On the initial double page (ff° 1v° and 2r°), the arrangement of the text is identical to that of the rest of the volume except that the bands alternately oppose two tones of gold - bright and matte. The remainder of the text is inscribed in a linear blue, red, gold, orange, and green frame, itself subdivided into five bands of equal importance, separated from each other by an orange net; inside each of them, in "clouds" on a background sometimes golden with floral decoration, sometimes made by a trellis in red ink, the text has been carried in blue or gold ink so that on two pages facing each other the order of distribution of the banners alternates (on the back, golden background for banners 1, 3 and 5, on the front for the second and fourth). Oriental paper. 13 fol. 198 × 139mm. 5 lines on the page. Writing surface: 100 × 61 mm. Blue and gold ink. Ottoman binding; border formed of chained hatched S's, stamped then gilded, caught between two gilded fillets.. Türkiye
