Notes
Other file(s) linked to this institution: FRBAMCCFR-000060-01b.xml. Hindu Nestalik, copied in gold and colored frames, on leaves of gold sandpaper, around 1590. This collection was formed at the very end of the author's life; it is by mistake that it is said, at its beginning, that it is composed of letters that he addressed to his brother Hakim Homam; the first alone is addressed to this character; it bears the date of 15 Ǧoumada first 996 of the hegira (April 12, 1588); the one that follows it is sent to Mirza Sadr ed-Din Mohammed, son of Mirza Sadr-i Ǧihan; it is dated 1 Rabiʿ first 996 (January 30, 1588), from Lahore; then comes a letter, also dated from Lahore, addressed to Mir Sherif Amoli, dated 20 Rabiʿ first of the year 1996 (sic), to which the Hindu scribe generously added a millennium, and which should be read 996 (February 18, 1588); the next is addressed to Mir Ǧemal ed-Din Inǧou, of the famous Inǧou family, originally from Shiraz, who is none other than the author of Farhang-i Ǧihanguiri; its text remained incomplete; these pieces are glossed in Turkish, in the spacings and in the margins. Turkish binding, in soft black leather.
