Text with vocalization and orthoepic signs in the same ink as the text; the variants are in color. Golden trefoil decorations separate the verses. A stylized golden “Kufic” hā ʾ indicates the groups of five verses; those of ten are marked by a rosette placed in the center of a circle - both golden. At the end of each surah appear its title and the number of its verses, in golden ink (formula: ğumlatu sūrati allatī yuḏkaru fīhā ...), accompanied by a vignette. The division indications in ḥizb are written in white inside golden circles placed in the margins. Oriental paper, dyed in colors varying from light brown to purple. 92 fol. (90, plus ff° 3 bis and 72 bis). 242 × 158mm. 13 lines per page. Silver ink. Set with miṣtara. Writing surface: 175 × 111 mm. Quinions. Maghreb binding with flap; the back has been restored. On the upper plate, a cold-stamped braiding pattern occupies the field and forms the frame, separated from the central part by a thick strip left raw. A dot has been stamped in each of the corners. The layout and decoration of the frame of the lower plate are identical to those of the upper plate; in the center of the field is an eight-pointed star filled with the same braiding motif (cf. G. Marçais and L. Poinssot, Objets kairouanais, pl. 46; M. Weisweiler, IB, Deckletyp 99, fig. 64). The flap has the same braiding pattern as the covers; in a central cartridge reserved on this background was stamped al-awwal - the serial number of the volume within the series. The decoration of the upper plate is reused for the covering. The contreplats are lined with leather.. I, 1-V, 81; gap between ff° 80 and 81: IV, 132-V, 20 missing. Ff° 1 and 2: warning making known the acronyms of the variants of the seven readings and those which intervene in the division of the verses. Maghreb. Aḥmad II (r. 796-837/1394-1434), during the month of rama-ḍān 807/March 1405, in favor of the Almohad mosque (or Qaṣba mosque) in Tunis (f° 3 bis). Motto: Adversante fortuna (cf.
