Copy completed in 1277 hours. / 1860-61 by Ḥusayn al-Riḍā' ibn Ḥasan al-Ḫarnūbī, student of Muṣṭafā al-Nuʿaymī.. This Quran was named by the donor "Jewel of Islam".. Verses separated by golden circles. Groups of ten verses, sometimes five, ḥizb-s indicated in the margin in red ink. Medallions in the margin containing the letter ğīm (for ğuz') or the word niṣf every five leaves. Indications of sağda in mandorla-shaped or circular patterns. Titles of the surahs in white in golden bands. Framing two thin golden bands with blue and red threads, border with a blue thread. Double frontispiece page: seven lines of text in clouds in reserve on a gold background, framed by two horizontal bands bordered in black, with gold cartouches on a blue background with a flower pattern, two vertical bands with a gold background bordered in light blue, all bordered by a gold band and a white fillet. Second frame on the three exterior sides, with flower motifs on a gold and blue background (f. 1v-2). Sarlawḥ-s at the beginning of suras Maryam (f. 153v) and Yāsīn (f. 221). End of the text in a point, bordered by an orange band, framing the end of the page occupied by bluish floral motifs on a gold background (f. 303v). Colophon in a polylobed mandorla on a golden field with blue and white flowers, framed by two horizontal bands with a diamond-shaped cartouche and two vertical gold bands, framed by two black and gold bands and black and red fillets (f. 304). stamped. Same border on the flap decorated with plant motifs, band of S and small circles framed by fillets on the edge cover. Blue paper backings.
