Watermarked paper. Filigree in the shape of a pot topped with a crown and a crescent, with the letters AB. Vertical stretches. F. 35-44: paper with watermark in the shape of a coat of arms, letters FA. Quinions. Many notebook backgrounds have been redone. Advertisements on all pages. Middles of the notebooks marked by a five rūmī at the upper corner of the back of the 5th leaf. Regluer with mistara. Traces of a restoration by flat sewing. Title on f. 5 and f. 6. Incomplete ending. GAL gives the title of Al-Nafaḥāt al-miskiyya fI al-sifāra al-turkiyya Account of an embassy carried out by ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī al-Ğuzūlī al-Tamağrūtī al-Darʿī (d. 1594-1595) in 997 h. / 1588-1589 in Constantinople for the Saʿadid sovereign Aḥmad al-Manṣūr (1549-1603). The author was accompanied by Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī al-Fištālī (d. 1612, cf. GAL, Suppl. II, p. 680) The biography of the author (2nd and 3rd endpapers) is transcribed by Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī al-Ğarīdī . Inc. (f. 5v): الحمد لله الذي خلق الإنسان في أحسن التقويم ... اما بعد فإنه Last words (f. 171): كان الأعمش اذا أحضر مجلسه ثقيل انشد فما الفيل GAL , Suppl . II, p. 679-680.; ed. Trans. and Ann. by H. de Castries, 1929.. The work belonged to Sīdī al-ʿArabī al-Ḥāğirī who transmitted it to his son ʿAbd al-Ḥafīẓ (ballpoint pen mark, 1st endpaper). Mark of possession of ʿAlī ibn Aḥmad al-ʿArabī (?) (f. 171). Binding covered in brown leather, central plate in the shape of a polylobed mandorla with plant decoration, cold-stamped border. Medallion on the flap. Compartmented edge cover inside and outside. Marbled paper backings. Label on the back bearing the title and the name of the author. Transliteration standard: ISO 233-2:1993, Information and documentation -- Transliteration of Arabic characters into Latin characters -- Part 2: Arabic language (the character ¨t is not used).

GAL donne the title of Al-Nafaḥāt al-Miskiyya fI al-Sifāra al-Turkish Recit of an ambassade effectuée by ʿAlī ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī al-Ğuzūlī al-Tamağrūtī al-Darʿī (mort in 1594-1595) en 997 h. / 1588-1589 to Constantinople for the future of Aḥmad al-Manṣūr (1549-1603). The book is compiled by Abū ʿAbd Allāh Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī al-Fištālī (m. 1612, cf. GAL, Suppl. II, p. 680) The book’s biography (2 days and 3 days of storage) is translated by Aḥmad ibn ʿAlī al-Ğarīdī. Inc. (f. 5v): Praise be to God who created man in the best of manners... As for what follows, since travel yields the morals of men, Derniers mots (f. 171): If Al-A’mash brought a heavy gathering to his gathering, he would chant “So what is the elephant” GAL, Suppl.
