F. Déroche, Catalog of Arab manuscripts. 2nd part. Muslim manuscripts. Volume 1, 2: The Manuscripts of the Koran: from the Maghreb to Insulindia. Paris, Bibliothèque nationale, 1983, n° 363., See the typewritten notices of Georges Vajda for the Arabic manuscripts 5600 to 6109.. Text with vocalization and orthoepic signs. Rosettes enhanced with red and blue dots separate the verses. The space left blank to receive the title of the surahs was not used. In the margin, the indication of sağda appears in white characters inside red and gold squares surrounded by a blue line. Decorations in the same colors indicate the divisions of the text: a circle for the ḥizb and its halves, an oval for the quarter of this section. At the head of the volume is a frame, the upper part of which is occupied by a banner where the number of ğuz ʾ is written in white ṯuluṯ characters on a gold and blue background; the space intended to receive, in all likelihood, a mark of possession or an act of waqf has not been filled (f° 1 r°). On ff° 1 v° and 2 r°, the beginning of the text is arranged in a frame delimited on each of the two pages by a golden braid with long elements, interrupted by the insertion of blue dots; this band defines two bands, where Koran LVI, 77-80 is inscribed in the same character and on the same type of background encountered at f° 1 r°, and a central rectangle where the text is placed inside "clouds" on a hatched field. The middle vignette consists of a golden semi-circle inside which two smaller semi-circles are inscribed; a circular sticker is placed next to each banner. Oriental paper, with three grouped bridges. 44 fol. 356 × 258mm. 5 lines per page (except in ff° 1 v° and 2 r°: 3 l.). Reglure to the misṭara. Writing surface: 218 × 162 mm. Black ink. Quaternions and quinions. 19th century Ottoman flap binding, red morocco; central plate and spandrels of the boards, fleuron of the gilded covering (both reproduce traditional models); frame made up of a band of chained hatched S's, stamped then gilded.
