Other file(s) linked to this institution: FRBAMCCFR-000060-01b.xml. Nestalik, copied in Constantinople, in the first years of the 17th century. The author recounts, in the preface to this tezkere, that he conceived the project of giving an appendix to the Beharistan of Ğami and to the Tezkeret el-shoʿara of Daulatshah, by bringing together the biographical and literary notices of the rhymers who lived between the date of the birth of Sultan Hoseïn Mirza, sovereign of Khorasan, in 842 AH (1438), until the year 896 (1491), in which he composed the present work. The notices in the Meǧalis el-nefaïs are even more insignificant than those in the tezkere of Daulatshah; they consist of little more than a few anecdotal details, without Ali Shir worrying about quoting much more than one or two verses. This tezkere is divided into eight sections, which are variously distributed depending on the examples; the first is dedicated to the poets who died during the time of Mir ʿAli Shir, but whom he never met; the second, to those whom the author knew in his youth, and who died before 896 (1490); the third, to the poets who were alive at that date, and whom Ali Shir honored with his friendship; the fourth, to writers who, without devoting themselves entirely to poetry, wrote verses; the fifth, to people from Khorasan who composed verses under the same conditions; the sixth, to the poets of Khorasan; the seventh, to the Timurid princes who wrote verses; the eighth contains the panegyric of Sultan Hoseïn Mirza, Timurid ruler of Khorasan. Turkish cardboard.
