The first leaf bears the date 1285 h / 1868-1869 on the back. Mark of possession of Aḥmad walad al-Ḥāğğ Aḥmad al-Bābā dated 1220 h. / 1805-1806, reading mark of the latter's son, ' ʿAbd al-Qādir, dated 1248 h. / 1832-1833 (f. 2, oriental writing). Quinions whose midpoints are marked at the upper outer corner of the fifth versos. Advertisements on all pages. The notebook backgrounds have been formerly restored.. Initial double page with compartmentalized frame of golden fillets outlined in black, including six lines of text in the central rectangle, and banners containing the titles and numbers of verses of the 1st and 2nd suras, then two banners containing notes on the right page, left empty on the left page. A space reserved for notes written on oblique lines is also framed. The following pages present three lines of large module alternating with two groups of seven lines of smaller module. The verses are separated by red dots. The Ğuz', the ḥizb and their divisions are indicated in the margin in green, red or yellow. Cover binding, red morocco, central plate in the shape of a multi-lobed mandorla with a bouuqet motif with a cross stem (cf. Déroche, Corans, II, type OAI²) cold stamped with pendants, border of S-shaped motifs. The mandorla, pendants, and border bear traces of a piece of beige paper. Purple paper backings. The pattern of the pendants is repeated on the flap. Inscription on the edge cover: Lā yamassuhu illā al-ṭāhirūn.
