Pl. Golden trefoil decorations enhanced with blue and red dots separate the verses. A golden teardrop-shaped pattern marks the groups of five verses and a golden circle surrounded by a white area with red and blue dots marks those of ten. At the head of each surah appear its title and the number of its verses in golden “Kufic” characters accompanied by a vignette. The indications of ḥizb are written in the same character in the center of concentric circles of red, gold and white. On each of the two final pages, the end of the text is placed in a frame formed by a golden twist caught between two white bands; a middle vignette extends this decoration in the margin (ff° 85 v° and 86 r°). Parchment. 86 fol. 164 × 150mm. 7 lines on the page. Drypoint ruler on the front of the leaves. Writing surface: 98 × 91 mm. Brown ink. Ternions. French binding from the end of the 15th century. : animal motifs (monkeys, eagles, etc...; cf. D. Miner, The history of bookbinding, 525-1950 A.D.
